I had my 4WD truck in RWD for about a week because I was waiting on new parts. I couldn't have the diff turning and I have CVDs in the front so I decided to disassemble the CVDs so that only the joint was left so I could mount my tires. Today I got my parts and I had the pins and barrels mixed up in my parts bin so I just rebuilt the CVDs using random pins and barrels. The first CVD went together perfectly but then when I put the second one together, the joint seemed very tight. It was so tight that the diff couldn't turn that side over. I took apart that CVD and I noticed that the pin was extremely tight in the barrel so it couldn't move freely. I tried soading the pin and barrel in WD-40 but that was no help.
Do you think that I will need to switch the pins and barrels because each side wore in differently? If thats not the problem, then what should I do?
Thanks, Mark
