Default color changing.......

I have a chameleon 2 pro motor and something weird is happening to it. You know where the endbell is right? Do ou know where all the brush hoods are? Mine are made from copper or thats at least thats the color. Anyways my question is why is the copper part changing color to a brownish scorched color? I was soldering it for a pretty long time and it started to change color. I took it out for a drive and it ran great but the color change started to spread more onto the copper part. I know its not being overgeared because I have a 88tspur and a 20t pnion. Is this something I should be worried about? Is my motors performance going to go down as my motor turns brown? Or is this just a normal phenomina that happens to every electric motor?

Thanks, Shredder111[>:]
