In another year or so I am thinking about getting an MT and don't have the largest price range... How durable is the truck, speed, handling?
Does it go well in grass?
Can it pop wheelies?

Do a search for it in the Monster Truck forum... you will get plenty of answers. There are several guys there that love it! From what I read, with an easy mod it's pretty much unbreakable, it's 45mph out of the box, and its independent suspension makes it handle well, like any other such truck.

they are a little bit "bendy" chassis wise, out of the box for my liking, this is pretty much cured with the alloy brake seat hop up and a couple of other home made mods make them very durable. or the jt racing chassis is the 100% cure to flex.

as standard they dont wheelie, no, due to the layout of the engine etc. u will grow tired of wheelies anyway. the short wheelbase makes them look small next to other trucks, and u will probably get some flaming over that, but wait to see their faces when u nail the throttle - no wheelie, no fuss, just very rapid acceleration that keeps going and going! i like being the underdog and kicking ppls ass!

when u get the cash its worth going to an 18 tho, a 21 is a bit much for it. but remember its smaller and lighter than most trucks, which pays off in the handling too, especially if u get the adapters to fit the tmaxx wheels. wheelies with a good 18 are poss, if thats ur thing. oh and tyres and shocks are worth upgrading too.

forgot about grass: so long as the grass is quite short, below 2 inches, the u should be ok, tho i have heard that all the traction u get can load a nitro engine quite heavily and possibly cause overheating probs. i have never had a prob with short grass with my rally tho, but its worth bearing in mind in case it starts to run badly on grass and ur not sure why.

hope all that helps. cen trucks are generally underated in my humble opinion, they do need a couple of mods to get the best from them, but these are smaller than required on "better trucks" to get the best from those. overall u cant complain for the price, just make sure u can get parts quickly and easily before u buy one - i hate down time.

I bought a CEN MT2 and I haven't got any regrets at all. It is a really fast car and robust for most of it.
I had a few high speed crashes and the only thing that broke is the diff cup joint, quite cheap.
To my surprise, I realized that the screws are not that tight and 2 of my shocks went missing....
Can anybody recommend me the best shocks for some heavy usage ?

i know its possible to put tmaxx shocks on the mt2. the ones from integy look really nice. look at my gallery for pics of my chassis brace.

evader, I have mine for 2 years now and except for occasional teething pains, I love this truck.
Poor Judgement was correct in his assesment of the Mt2... Forget about wheelies, It won't due them but it will smoke most trucks out there. Follow the forums and do all the suggested mods and your truck will be for the most part trouble free. I can't figure out how fraynaud lost his shock, but anyway, I switched mine to t-maxx shocks and they work fine..... The only important thing to do is upgrade the radio system. The only weak link..... pm me if you have any more questions.....

A bit more expensive that what I was expecting but i'm sure it's worth it.
Which exact model of shocks did you get ?

I had another question regarding the toe of the wheels. Can anybody recommend me a good tutorial ? pictures ? etc...

as far as what brand of shocks, I went with integy. They weren't a direct fit so a little tinker time is required. not a big deal.
as for the wheel toe in. best way is to step back from the truck and look at the stance of the truck when it is sitting normal. You want it to be straight up and down(use the pillow balls to adjust this) the two screws in the wheel hubs adjust it.... Then make sure the wheels are tracking straight ahead... once again eyeball this and use the tie rods front and rear to adjust..... remember, this is a monster truck,
it dowsn't have to be perfect, close is fine... you are running mostly in dirt so tire wear isn't too much of a problem.
