Gave the boys each a Rustler for Christmas. One of them broke something in the tranny on the 4th charge. I guess I need to tear it apart and see what happened. It was just under normal driving on flat hard packed dirt. Is there something in the tranny that always brakes? I bet there is no warranty either. How about upgraded tranny parts to help in not braking again. Thanks...

mattymx... Is it in the trans or could it be in the spur and pinion by the motor... I've abused my trans badly and nothing breaks... 10tx2 motor and jumps at skateparks and still works... Spur gears strip sometimes... Let us know what you find...

I took the motor off and the gears were still meshing well and looked good. The slipper clutch was adjusted well and OK too. You can spin 1 wheel and the other will not do anything. So I went to a different hobby shop 50 miles away (off the other side of the mountain) and got the pro ball diff. It cost over twice what the stock parts cost, but now I will have a much stronger rear diff. Now I just need to put the thing in. Just by looking at it in the shops parts catalog, you could tell it is a better part. I will let you know how the install goes and how it works. It might be a while because it is going to snow all week long.
