watch your local hobby shops, the new ones have started shipping. I got two on the way from a hobby shop in tx, so even if you have a pre order with someone (like I did), look at the local
shops and you maybe surprised at what you find!
Oh, and expect to pay a few extra bucks!!!!!

Me and a buddy of mine have had two tmax's for 18 months, ran them like a dog, and still couldn't kill'um! If you have been to Traxxas.com and seen the video's, on there message board, this thing is UNREAL. I'm sure your Razorback is great, but I'll have to stick with perfection!

(our two new 2.5 tmax's are going to be here in the morning, I will post a user end review, after we run the tar outta them Friday evening!)

Well, I had a Maxx that I put about and additional $900 into after it was all said and done. Let me tell you, the Maxx is not perfect. I didn't say the Monster GT is perfect nor did I claim it to be. IMO, the Maxx is a good truck for a beginner, but in stock form it is far from being perfect. Anyways, I sold the Maxx, bought a Mad Force, had some cash left over, and I am happier now with the MF than when I had the T.
My RC10 is an excellent truck, so why wouldn't I expect it from the Monster GT? I guess we will have to wait and see.
Did the new vids of the Maxx impress you? Then go to HPI's web site to see vids of the Savage or Kyosho's site to see the MF. They are equally as impressive.

Ive had my Tmaxx for over a year, this is the most fun truck I have ever had for jumping. Its stock except for a different motor and tie rods, and skids because I like them. I dont know what you all need for hopups on yours, but mine wont break! Awesome trucks.

You spent 900.00 on repair parts ???????????? WHY???? Please
explain that one?
The two tmax's were stock, and the only parts we changed where stuff we broke! And dude, don't take stuff so serious, none of this stuff is perfect, but for, out of the box perfection at its best (my opinion, your welcome to yours), I go TMAX!
And if you want to compare speed, this is what I fly. http://www.conceptserviceselectrical...e/richard5.htm ....and It flies!
Try 175 mph plus! The tmax is for cloudy days! And at 8am Friday, its gonna be just that time, 2.5 time!

On traxxas's online board (like this one) They have videos and info, the breakin looks to be pretty important. Good thing they explained it, if you take a glance at it, your lost. If its okay with the mods here, after we break in the max's in the morning, and get them running, I will post a review, from a consumer point of view. The traxxas board is loaded with info!
And turbines, yes, we have turbines. We are getting ready to build a turbine powered boat, a 60" cat hull, with a 28lb thrust TJT engine onboard. The guys in England say its hard to get right, but it sounds like fun to us!

FWIW, my friend had a Tmaxx and had trouble with it, but, I think it could be more the user than the truck sometimes. IMO

One of the jet guys, said that a turbine powered truck had been done (it was under the thread, "boat turbine powered", in the jets section here). I saw the photos, on amt's site your talking about for the boat, I spoke with both the guys that built it, many times in the last few weeks, and they say its really tuff, water and turbines don't go hand in hand. Stay tuned!

I have a T-Maxx, mildly upgraded, runs good, have not had much trouble with it except driver induced
...I have a version 2 on order also. I also have an RC-10GT/FT, that is an awsome truck, very high quality, IMO. I am looking forward to seeing Assoiated's new entry into this arena, I'm quessing it will be a nice machine also, if it is of the same quality as their other products, I'll have to have one of them too.....Coop

Do you want the list of parts? I never said it was repair parts. They were all mods and such with aluminum, ti and RPM upgrades almost everywhere I could put them. They did help the overall performance of the truck, but it cost alot of money to get it close to what I wanted.
All I was originally saying is Associated is known for making a quality truck / car and should be a good rival in a MT world that was owned by Traxxas.

If you read your post, it sure sounds like repairs!!!!
Other than on Ebay, they don't sell one of these, from any company the way you want it, therefore, irrelevant.
Alum. stuff looks great, but is way over priced. The only thing I can think of that would get me to buy it is extra speed (engine, clutches, gears). Which other parts gave you performance, or was it mostly an appearance thing? To be honest with you, the only thing I put on mine was an after market body, the only reason I did that was, the two trucks we had were the same color, which PROVED to be very funny! Also alum. parts are hard to see at 30+mph with the body on, its great for static display!
I got the making a quality truck thing, I'm stay'n with the Tmax bunch on this one!

The above link was the correct spot. I don't do pulsejets (its like shopping at Kmart).
Two MAX"S are here, and we have one broken in, and getting ready to start the other one!!!!
So far, NO problems, awesome trucks!!!!!! We got green and blue, I will setup some picks in my profile later!

I admit I had some parts on it for looks, but there were several parts that did help with performance. First of all the OS CV-RX .15 with Hardcore Mutant Head, AE tuned pipe and NJ Big Tube Header. MIP driveshafts all around and center. RRP FOC. GA bulks. Aluminum chassis braces and skidplates. Mulchers on velocity rims. Ballbearing steering upgrade. Dynamite adjustable shocks. Raven dual rate springs.
All of these will help your Maxx in one way or the other.
Look, it really doesn't matter. Good luck with your Maxx and I look forward to reading your review on the "new" Maxx.
