I'm getting back into the hobby here and decided I need a box big enough for all my stuff (tools, soldering equipment, extra parts, etc etc...) yet I still want it to be transportable easy enough too. Anyone have any suggestions or links to order from?
Thanks in advance!
PS first post on the forum here, I did do a search though without any success!

Used a big Plano tackle box when I was a kid heavy into RC cars, and now I use the same big Plano tackle box for my airplanes. I even carry a field battery in it, have have the power panel cut into the side of it. Works great. There are tons of built in little drawers, and you can put larger tools in the top of it too.
Get one at Wal Mart or the like. Great investment for 20-30 bucks.

I use a stanley stacking tool cart from Wal-Mart (about $25).
The base has a 12V 18A battery with a power panel, fuel pump, 48oz airplane fuel tank, and a organizer for small parts.
The second layer holds my transmitters, charger, and Mini-T.
The pull out tray holds my rotostart, glow ignitor, spare 7.2 pack, charger adapters, etc.
The top easy access pannels hold me allen wrenched, screw drivers. etc.

I'd go the tackle box route, but instead of getting a tackle box, pick up a tackle tote instead. I've been using one for all my fishing gear since 1995, and havn't gone to a tackle box since. Since I only fish for Carp/ Stripers/ Catfish out here, i'm converting my old tackle tote to hold all my gear. I also just blew $120 bucks on a Rod Holdall for my carp rods, and it has enough pouches and zippers to hold all my rods, as well as terminal tackle and and my boilies, which is another reason I am converting my old bag.
Bass Pro Shops has some nice ones, like this one...

They don't come with the removable boxes, but you can pick those up at Wal Mart or a local tackle shop. You may not even need alot of them as well. Depending on the quality of your local Wal Mart, you may be able to find one there too.

just picked up a plano guide over/under type box... this has tons of storage and a large storage area in the middle... It has replaced my plano 3700 boxes. I used to take 6-7 boxes to the track in a milk crate along with other junk... Now I take the guide box and fuel and leave all the other stuff that isn't needed at the track at home.....

I use a TUFF Toolbox. Added a battery in the corner (also drilled vent holes) and built an enclosure for it with a power panel in it. Fuel pump & fuel bottle fitted on the opposite side. Small tackle box in the center along with meters and the transmitter. Screw driver, pilers fit along side of battery and power panel, small slot 2"x6" was between the battery & tool box. Starter is mounted on the lid of the tool box with a strap. Tool box lid is raised up like pitch roof.
