You want tires for a RadioShack car? I can't stop laughing long enough to give you some help.

Default tires

Probably be good to graduate up to a different car. They cost a little more, but they are 1000 times more durable, better performance, and parts are plentiful. As for the comic in the first reply, don't quit your day job, everyone starts somewhere. Good luck with your car. Mike

The outside diameter of the tire on some of the RS trucks is about the same as a 2.2 inch tire. But the rims on them are smaller. Have you thought about trying a set of HPI 2.2 rims on it? They come with a lot of adapters, maybe one set would fit? I know these trucks are a lot of fun in the snow, especially if it has the two speed gear box.

ok, Modest, that was really out of line. You are 13 years old and quite possibly spoiled out of your mind if you can laugh at someone elses car because it came from radio shack. I personally am 24 years old, race competitively and have over 5000 dollars in RC, does that make me any better than him because he chooses to bash a radio shack car? I think not, my first two were from radio shack when I was 18 since my mom chose not to spoil me and I had to buy all my own stuff right down to real cars from the day I got my first job at 15. Hummer, I think Dirtman has you on the right track. Remember, it is a toy made of plastic. You are smarter than it and with a little creativity, you can make anything you want fit. And pay no attention to our members that try to degrade anyone for their choices. These things are for fun and nothing more. If you have fun with it, who cares what anyone else thinks.

And to top it all off, I just read a post you made 6 days ago and you didn't even have a car then, why are you ragging someone else? I even tried to help you with your decision then Modest!

Default Radio Shack

I think Radio shack remote controlled cars, trucks and boats are awesome. They are well made and can last a lifetime if taken car of.
My grandfather gave me a Electric Tandy remote controlled boat when I was a kid. I think I was about 12 years old.
We would visit a few times a year and my grandfaher kept the boat there so I could run it on the the lake behind his house. I think if he would have let me take it home at that age I would have destroyed it.
Well he gave it to me a few years ago, which I had forgotten about it and had not seen it for quite a few years.

I have it at home now, seventeen years later it still runs as if it was brand new. The plastic has turned colors slightly but still runs great.

I can still remember the first day I put that boat on the lake, From that day forth I have always been intriqued by anything remote controlled.

That said I wouldnt suggest a radioshack car as a hobby grade car, thats not really the point of the radio shack line. But certainly great for younger kids and for anyone really that does not want to get serious and spend money in this hobby.

As for the tires I can tell you that you are going to have to fabricate something. I have a Radiosahck ford f150 and had the same problems that you are having with the tires.
Like dirtman said you can get some HPI rims or any 2.2 size and create something that will bind them to the axles. Once you do that you can put any tires you want on there.
If you cant seem to figure out a way to do it, find someone you know that is good at building stuff and so forth. They should be able to put something together fairly quickly.

As well you might post some pics up here on the forum of the truck and close ups of the axles where they meet the wheels.
Maybe some of us can help you come up with something.

Woah, guys, first of all, I am not all that spoiled. I do get an allowance for doing chores, $10 a week. That is more than a lot of young people get, i will give you that. But I recently got a RC10GT, which I bought with my own money. I really didn't mean to offend anyone with my comments. The only reason I laugh at a RadioShack car, is I had one when I was 9 years old that I got for christmas. I was disgusted with the thing. It was slow, the batteries took 24 hours to charge, and it had cheap springs for shocks that lasted half a year. The steering control on the radio also broke, and the little metal rods above the a-arms are bent way out of wack. All that said, toy R/C cars offer a great way for young children to get involved in a rewarding hobby. I just would rather see someone spend their money elsewhere.
