Default Well, let's get this forum started

I am considering an on-road nitro car. I had an electric TC3, but sold it thinking the road scene was not for me. I think it was the electrics that I really disliked so I want to give a nitro a chance. There are a few cars I like, but the Yokomo GT-4 RTR is one that I am really considering. I am more interested in straight line speed right now, but may consider racing in the future. I will be getting a RTR kit more than likely and need the advice of you on-road guys to help me out.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I got an HPI Nitro RS4-3 RTR about 3 weeks ago and I am absolutly loving it. For a RTR its actually quite speedy. Its got quite sturdy construction and is shaft driven rather than belt driven. Its good for Nitro RC car 1st timers and has a large assortment of hop-ups. I got it for $300 at a local HobbyTown store. I've painted up the Viper GTSR body and have already started on a show quality ProLine Lexus LS-430 body. Heh...I even have a Lexus GS-400 body on order! Anyways, if your looking for a Nitro RTR kit, then you may want to look into the HPI Nitro RS4-2 RTR.

Mike I have a RS4 rtr3 for sale right now
I bought it in the rtr form and have made a ton of up grades with the intention of racing it, which I did a couple times. Now the track I like has cancelled thier Sunday afternoon racing and now they only race on-road thursday nights(hard for me).

The nice thing about the RS4's are the availability of parts and the ease of repairs/mantainace. They are very easy to break down and put back together for cleaning and repairs.

I don't know about the Yokomo, but the thing with any RTR is you more than likely going to have to install upgrades to get the speed and handling you want. If you buy a "pro" kit you get all the top components, but you spend more money adding the engine and radio system.

anyway if your interested in a RS4 let me know and I'll make you a deal on mine
Good luck
Tom

I just sold an rs4 3 type ss with the 12r engine and 2 speed and let me tell ya that little car will flat out fly. 50mph with no problem and the car is fun as can be to build-no problems and even comes with the shock oil and locktite. I will never buy another ready to run kit because ive always had problems with stuff coming loose or not being tight and falling apart thats why I liked this kit. You wont be sorry with the hpi products they are very high quality.

I'd have to agree, I own an HPI Nitro MT, throw street tires on it, and have fun with the rs's.. but yes, HPI's construction is wonderful, very easy to get at anything you need to and they will take punishment
