i filled up my tank then when i went to pull the pullcord it wouldnt budge put all my might into it wouldnt budge. Took the pull start assembly off pulled fine. The thing that it turns would pull fine also, except sometimes it would catch (so it seems). Thought the problem was gone, but put it back together wouldnt budge. Anyadvice please help!

That was probably due to the engine being hydrolocked. When you tried to pull the cord, the stress is transmitted to the crankshaft pin, con-rod and connecting pin (to the piston). That is probably why the "piston arm" broke.
Search for more info on "hydrolocking" if you do not know what it is. And in future if the pullstart will not pull easily, don't force it!!!

i had a similar problem and my car had to spend 3 weeks in the modelshop and got it back last night. i got salt water into my engine and it had dried out all the lubrication so the engine got really hot and the piston expanded to much and jamed. turned out to be quite expensive and there were other problems with my car that my freind caused so it was really expensive
