first of all, why do you want to lock it? the only reason i can think of is if youre going to be rock climbing but a rustler isnt ment for that. i would just leave it how it is unless it absolutly necesary but remember that it puts a ton of strain on the drive shafts and tranny.

im experimenting with different things. this is my first hobby-level rc car. my radioshacker didnt have any configurable or adjustable stuff on it. i guess i dont want to lock it completely, but use a lesser dense grease, because if one tire leaves the ground, all power goes to that tire and i have to go push it off the obstacle or else it wont move.

you must be on some pretty rough terrain! (by the way, nice job giving up the radio shacker). im not positivly sure on how to lock the diff for the rustler, (its a gear diff, right?), but i think a thicker grease would help. but remember, im not sure!

Go with a thicker grease. You can alwayws clean it with denatured alcohol or brake cleaner if you don't like it.

Put some 100k diff fluid in it. it is not totally lock up but close. also you can clean it out with Automotive break cleaner to clean it out and change it to a lower viscosity. If you want to lock it up totally use silly putty you can also remove it.

lol he doesnt have it anymore. my radioshacker crashed into it and ripped it in half shows how bad it was since mine was a 27T motor and utter crap everythingelse but if i had my rustler back then, i would have driven circles around his...and on his
