I would never ever do this, but what would happen if you took the muffler off of an R/C? Would it still run and just be louder or would it damage the engine. Also, like I said, I would NEVER do this, I am just wondering...

well i done it a few times with my old buggy and god was it loud lmao, it didnt do any damage to my buggy but im not quite sure what it would do if u done it to much

I had it happened to me once when i crashed my CEN RTR into the curb and the muffler joint broke and it was ***** loud !! no dmg to the engine or the car whatsoever just that it was LOUD..

wouldn't the performance be better with no extra piping to slow down the flow of exhaust? and also I dont think you could run the engine very long that way since the tank would not be presurized

the engine needs the back pressure on the exhaust to help keep the fuel in the combustion chamber. also it does run w/ no pressure on the fuel tank...after you get it started, pop the lid on your tank, see what happens. oh and my TC3's muffler popped off the header, wierd sounding...

pipes add performance, they don;t take it away, just remember that 
so if u ever wanna get more power out of ur engine, upgrade to a (better) tuned pipe
