Default Locking T-maxx diff?

Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to lock a Tmaxx diff. If it is, does anybody have a thread or pics on how to do it?

Yeah they have a spool for it,

It will increase the wear and tear on the drivetrain.

I gotta agree with the other guys. I locked my T-Maxx rear diff with epoxy thinking it would make an already killer wheely machine even better...WRONG! It would torque roll over, handled like crap, hated it! Didn't break anything because I quit running it till I got a new diff.

ya your lucky because i now people that have done that and messed up there drive line. but you can slow down the diff action with silly putty.

Can I ask a question? I don't understand the whole differential locking thing. What is the purpose? I just don't understand because I'm pretty new.

A locked diff keeps the wheel speed the same for both tires..... as opposed to an open diff that will allow an outside wheel to turn faster and the inside wheel to turn slower in a turn.....there are advantages to a locked diff.... example rock climbing, you will have both tires pulling you over an obstacle... in an open diff if one tire comes off the ground all the power goes to the tire with no resistance and you get stuck.

Thanks a lot for the explanation. I understand now, makes total sense. That must be why there are also different weights for diff oil, to cause a sort of a "partial lock" or a decreased differential action, right?
