I am making my own discharger to discharge my tx battery. The guy at my lhs told me to go to radio shack and connect a few led light bulbs and connect them to the battery. how many light bulbs do you think i should use.

LED bulbs will take forever and a day to drain a battery. Good old automotive ones are the way to go.

Won't the bulbs dead short the battery? If so, I was under the impression that you don't want to dead short? Would you clarify? Thanks!

The bulbs provide electrical resistance (or load), hence you will not have a dead short (just think of it as a funny looking flashlight).
