Default Weird idea

I don't know about you guys but they came out with a flashlight to where all you have to do is shake it and turn it on without using batteries. Wouldn't that be kinda cool just to shake your truck/car then set it down without recharging batteries or buying new ones?

You don't really have to worry about shaking it every 5 seconds if you keep jumping or running the truck because all that motion would keep it going!

Well I just had that idea and thought it would be cool. I haven't got a real good look at the flashlight so I don't know if that would be even possible but it might be worth a try.

It's an interesting idea, but I don't think they could generate enough power to propell an r/c, plus the basic shaker module takes up quire a bit of space, and you would need a few of those.

the shacking motion has to be in one plane. Horizontal or vertical so it would not get all the impact of the RC. I guess it may be possible to get it to run your servos and reciever... Would tack on some extra weight though.
Only one way to find out if it would work

My local Snap-On dealer had one of those on his truck a little over a year ago. It doesn't generate very much power. It only need's to light up a couple LED light's and they use very little power compared to a standard light bulb. Great idea but it won't work.

Interesting concept. Perpetual power! Wouldn't that change the world!

already being worked on..... but differntly.. a company had developed an inertia battery that is beign tested in laptops. it is a pack with hundreds of nano type inertia motors. once on, you do not need to plug it in to charge.. just simply turn on your laptop and use.. no ac needed... its a Very cool premise, and if they can power a new laptop with it, then the possibilities are endless......

or u can make propetual motion buy having somthing that shcakes the flash lite and the flash lite generats more power then is needed to run the thing that shakes it

Wow, you just figured out how to create energy free! lol. Too bad it wouldn't work.
Damn physics...

yea, i think gas engines are sweet for propelling rc cars...

we were issued those shake charge flashlights in the military. They blow.

well lets not say it wouldnt work, lets say with the closed minded thinking of most humans, that are dead stuck on Einsteins THEORYIES. then no it wont. Einstein was obviously HIGHLY intelligent, but still only used 11% of his brain. so. that 89% of more theorys and possibilities yet to come.....

Sounds like a good idea, but I think it would need some developing before it would work on an rc.

Well... If you are interested in the idea of not having to charge your RC batteries, it would be very easy to hook up a small generator to the driveline somewhere. Mabe belt driven off the center driveshaft or right off the engine opposite your spur gears. it would function exactly like an alternator on a fullsize vehicle. The only problem that I can forsee is overcharging. So, you would need a mini voltage regulator or something in line with the generator to limit the generator output. Or simply put a tiny voltmeter on your RC so you can see it and when the battery is low just engage the generator witha switch or something. You could even do it remotely with a micro servo and a 3 channel radio.
It would take a tiny bit of power away form your RC though. But on a 300 HP truck running 2 batteries it takes about 1 HP so thats like 1/3 percent. I'm not sure where you would get the hardware for this, I just thought of it. But now i may end up having to give it a try.lol

not possible even in space.... perpetua motion is something that goes faster and faster and faster.

even with 0 friction its not possible for something to increase speed without some energy being applied to it.

like a dyno on a bike.

it won;t be a small amount being taken away - it will be alot.. and will be very noticable - just the wgiht of the magnets and coils will cause an effect, if they arn;t even hooked up to anything.

and as u go faster the more it will affect your RC. electromagnetic induction is not constant. like... its not linear, at least as far as i know.

Haha! It's called physics. You can't get energy for nothing! It's the same thought as hooking up a prop to the driveshaft of a car and pushing it, hoping the prop will generate enough forward force and bring movement along with the wheels. No..

In a world of no friction, it would keep moving but would not be able to accelerate without more energy.

In our world, it would come to a stop fairly quickly.
