Default tmaxx tuning problems! help please1

i have a tmaxx that was running prefectly until about a month ago. it is 1.5 yrs old and I have had no problems with it. it starts but now it dies at full throtle. I have adjusted the low speed. high speed. replaced all the fuel tubing. new glow plug . replaced the fuel tank(suspected low tank presure). I have tried every adjust I can think of. I need advice. What is the average life span of these trx .15? if you have ideas or have had the same problem let me know. I have also totally cleaned motor and carb.
Thanks
rick

Default tmaxx tuning prob.

I have owned three of the trx .15 engines all of them still run, but the carbs. have all been replaced for some strange reason when you mess with the low speed needle and get it out of wack the will either rev really high and die or do as you said and die at full throttle. So you might try replacing the carb with a stock new one or try an aftermarket carb. The new Dynamite carb will fit in the spot and is a good replacement, and also cheeper than the Traxxas. Thats all I know.

There seems to be something amiss here. If it were worn out you would have more of a starting issue. Did you check for crud in the needles?

You can find the dynamite carbs at WWW.Horizonhobby.com
The carb is called a Pro Mix Carb the price is 18.50 its pretty cheap

I have a .12spd engine with this carb on it and it runs great. It also make the traxxas .15 run good. Thanks, I hope this will help. Kris(coyotekiller)

I have went through 3 trx pro 15's and just got sick of replacing them so went out and bought an HPI 15ss and that engine hauls. My pro mod nitro sport does about 95 km/h. If it is dying at full then it sounds like a lean mixture. I would try setting everything real rich and take 3 tanks and get it running at just below top rpm. If you have already done that then you might be getting an air leak somewhere which will make for a lean mixture. It also could be that your needle valve is turning itself. If you have to always readjust it then that is what is wrong. Try spraying soapy water all over the running engine and see if you are getting bubbles anywhere. Bubbles indicate an airleak. Try these things and let me know because I have lots of experience in these matters and have lots more ideas. This sounds like a lean mixture to me.

Did you try replacing the o-rings? You might have a rip or tear in one. To check real fast, try to put a piece of fuel tubing over the needle adjustment that is sealed at one end. A tight fit is needed. Also try to seal the carb better at the base. I would hate to see you get a new engine or carb over this...
