nitro rustler overheating probs

Default nitro rustler overheating probs

ok, i broke er in, and i just got a thermo

from the gloplug as follows


320 after qa ibit of running, back of body cut
300 after cutting windsheild

and its staying at 295 and its a half turn richer on the high than stock, its rich as ****, and i go through a tank in like 6 mins

what should i do

You should leave it as long as it runs normally and is tuned properly. Don't tune by any magical numbers on the display, instead tune to performance and sound ONLY.

ryan t888 Hit it right on the nail.

Do not tune to a certain temp as you will be chasing that temp as long as you have the thing. Just make sure that it is nice and crisp. Just make sure it's not lean and make sure that it is getting plenty of air flowing through the fins on the head. Cutting the windshield out is a must to keep the engine running cool. Especially in these hot summer days that we are getting as of late. Just make sure that it's not lean.

ok, im gonna try keeping her udner 300


im running it really rich on the HSN

the window is cut out, and it is all good

do i need to add lube to my oil

How is it running though? Is it sluggish or good acceleration? How hot is it out side? You might have an air leak somewhere.

That is good. If you are getting peak performance at this point do not richen it any further. You do not need to add anything to the fuel.

Hide the temp gun until you get that engine tuned right. Not lean, not rich.
