Kyosho gear stripped
I have a FW05 and my gear has been stripped(or I think it is.) When I open up full throttle the car goes nowhere. I look at the 1st spur gear and the teeth are alot shorter than what they were when I first put it together. Can I use the spur gear from another Kyosho model like the RRR or something to replace it. Rather than ordering it.

If it's the same pitch it should work. Don't have to focus on teeth count as much as long as the pitch is the same and the screw holes match. Right now i am running a kyosho inferno mp 7.5 buggy and using the GS storm steel spur gear and the OFNA harden steel clutch bell.

So do I need to look up the gears online and compare them then go and buy it from the shop. Should I invest in an metal gear or stick with the plastic.

Aye, check the pitch to see what match. That is if you are keeping one, original clutch bell or spur gear. However if you are getting rid of both just check which spur gears bolt/screw holes match up and work from there. And yest steel all the way.
