What works best for me is the Team Losi t-bones for the street and Proline Gladiators ( agressive 2 step pins ) for the dirt. That's on my stadium truck. I don't know about the street guys?

Oh, I'm running an HPI RS4 SS w/ 26mm all around. I'm not necessarily looking for my car, just trying to get general knowledge for when people ask...

I think the HPI X-compound wears great on the streets but it lacks the traction of foam tires.. then again you have the 1 a week routine (if not more) you gotta go through with foams..
There was a great post on tires by either krusty or grampi (or crash?) a page down..check it out!

I read the post, but noone said "I run X brand..." or "Blah Blah, had a great deal on ... "
I personally don't want to even bother with foams, just looking for info on what people run and why..

For unprepared parking lot use Cheap tires like HPI M-compound.
When I say unprepared Im talking about a dusty, dirty parking lot that has not been swept and has no sugar water.
If you sweep off the area that you will be driving on then grab some X-pattern tires. They work great and will work find in mildly even in mildly dusty areas.
As for foams, I would only use those for racing on a prepared track with sugar water.
The unprepared parking lot will tear foam off the rim like a lion after a raw steak.
Foams do spoil fairly quick unlike regular rubber tires. Foams tend to dry out and should be kept in a closed bag to keep them fresh.
I store mine in the freezer and they are like new after being in there for months.
I do sometimes run foam tires in the parking lot, but its old left over foams that I had laying around.

I use variety of brands for rubber and foams, depending on how the car handles on the surface being used.
for rubber, sorex, hpi m, yoks are good.
for foams, elligis, zacs are what I use.
I own a lot of tires. Some tires have one 5 min qualifying time in them and then changed because if does not feel right in a particular track/surface, depending on how much vht was sprayed, temperature, etc. For mains, I use a fresh set of tires. These tires are then kept in a sealed container to preserve the tire.
dbow - I have to try the freezer method. Hopefully, my wife does not throw them away and get pissed

Yeah, I'm curently running on Medial Pro's... which are a real nice set of tires... I have torn the crap out of em, and they are still pretty new... Unfortunaly, the rims they come with aren't very strong, I have managed to crack 2 of them in minor colissions... Howevr ever, my LHS only carries them mounted and glued...
I'll try a set of HPI's again... The ones that came with my SS were torn up in the matter of an afternoon..

i'm happy with my x-pattern hpi tires, everytime i need new tires for any of my cars i just get the x-pattern from hpi, ther have great traction(not the best), last long, and aren't as expensive as other tires
