i have had my s-maxx for a while now and i want a new truck. i have narrowed it down to 2 trucks XTM Mamoth ST or the Duratrax Warhead. i can get them both at the same price($399.99). i want 1/8 scale and to keep up with a revo 3.3 also. i am leaning towards the mammoth but i have heard bad stuff about them, but every truck has a weakness. any info is great thanks.

If you wanna stay drafting close to the revo then ya I wouldnt go with the warhead at all! I have a=one and know from experience that there a pain in the but to break in and keeping the steering linkages from breaking is a whole nother story. Ive heard good thins and bad things about the mammoth but personally out of the two they are not very alike in any way. But ya yet agian if you wanna keep up with a revo get a mammoth original not st.

i looked at the mammoth also and i didn't like the looks of it. i don't race i just bash mainly in a dirt and gravel pit the mammoth would work well. but i still rather have the mammoth st. hobbytron has it on top of a revo that thing is huge. speaking of huge see that price tag. a little high for a 15 year old with no job. i can get the st for $350.00 now.

the mammoth is good truck for the track but its not the best for bashing. you can make it good for bashing with dadders chassis braces and a center diff. the truck is fast and handles good.

i thought the st has a center diff. whats a dadder? everything on the truck is really beefy, i thought it would be okay for bashing.

The advantage of the revo is you guys will know how to fix it better and probably acquire spares easier. I reccomend you get this, it's $375 on Tower.

A lot of people do dislike the Mammoth MT/ST, but look at the T-maxx people too. Some people really think that thing's crap but they still buy it anyway. I have a lot of money into my Mammoth ST and I really don't bash with it because it is for racing purposes or just fooling around without bashing. If you want to bash, then get an MT, the MGT will be a good choice for that just as Inverted said. But if you want something for racing/fooling w/o bashing then I would go with the Mammoth ST because there are custom upgrade options for it. Parts could be labeled scarce, for XTM but I really have no problem with waiting because I can't get to my LHS until the weekend anyway. www.hobbypeople.net would be your best bet for Mammoth stuff. Good luck with choosing, but I would say MGT if you wanna bash/race.

ive watched mammoths run, and they break easily..even with highly expensive-and-why-the-frick-would-you-spend-that-much-money-on-upgrades, and they still break easily. personally, i would go with the mgt, since its been proven to be a good truck. Before you could get a mammoth working, you need to buy $120 chassis braces and $70 hinge pin retainers. NOT WORTH IT!!!!

HAHAHA! RACING PURPOSES???? nearest track is an hour away from us, and there is no chance in hell you would drive there every weekend. youve never raced in your life... get real, come on! and no, you don't bash either....you just do speed runs. whats the point of an off-road truck anyways??

Yo Aznbash3r,
You sure don't act like this when I'm around you, gosh dude, lay off sometime. You gotta let people do what they want, it was the only truck I could afford. My parents aren't hauling in endless supplies of money, I don't know what you want me to do. I spend MY money on MY truck and it was the only thing within my price range. You really know how to get on someone's case, let the kid do whatever he wants. You just have a negative comment for EVERYTHING. Please lay off. [:-]
