shaving headbutton

Default shaving headbutton

does anyone know what effects,shaving a rc nitro engine headbutton would have on it?

It depends on what sort of "shaving" you want to do ?. As long as you dont "shave" to much off it wont be much harm, just less surface area to cool down from.

head button, not cooling head, shaving it will allow you to change the compression, if you shave the ehad, you dont need to worry about the psiton smacking the head, so you can run less shims, seems like after all that, the compression and power would be the same though

is the min clearance .6mil between the head and the piston?

there is no set minimum clearance, but, it is always good to have ample room, remember the rod stretches over time

thanx hpi apollo.i shaved my head .015 and removed 1 .015 shim.im going out to retune it right know,hope it doesnt blow up.

Sleeved my hpi exhaust header to fit properlly,shaved my head and removed a shim.WOW, my collari 32 just totally came to life.Know im ready to rerace that xtm 457.She got loads of bottum,mid and top end.
