my friend is wanting to get a nitro sport and i was wondering how it would do against my revo. also, when he wears out the pro. 15, he wants to put the 3.3 in it, is this a good idea? i am planning on eventually upgrading my revo to a 3.3.

Yea, upgrading to a 3.3 later would be a good idea but getting an OS .18TZ would be a better one because it is cheaper and more powerful. The nitro sport would not be able to keep up with the revo and it would also get run over by it. If he gets an OS.18TZ, then I think you'll have a hard time keeping up with him. If you want to get a new engine for your revo I suggest the OS.18TM, it is a direct drop in and it comes with all you need to get it running in the revo.

how would the nitro sport be with a 2.5r ?(he is debating over the two)

It would be about the same speed as your revo is now. Your revo has a two speed but the sport is lighter and smaller.As a matter of fact, I think your revo would be faster than it if the sport had a 2.5r. I would recommend the 3.3 if you must get a traxxas engine.
