Since your breaking it in, the engine is probably set very rich, its loading up with fuel and stalling out on you. Open up the carb a bit more at idle using your throttle trim on your radio this will lessen the chance of it stalling.

I think the nut and rod your talking about is the * Throttle Linkage* thats not the low speed adjustment, that would be a screw on your carb.

Did your car/buggy/truck not come with an instruction manual? They usually explain most of the stuff you're asking about. Break-in, tuning, adjusting, etc. It's well worth reading.

the low speed needle is usually located in the throttle arm the screw in the center if you have a rotary style carb. "rotates to open" to set this properly do the pinch test
pinch the fuel line if the engine idles up for 3-4 seconds then dies.. the needle is set correctly
if it dies out almost imediately then its too lean richen it "counterclockwise"
if it revs way up for longer than 5 seconds its too rich lean it out "clockwise
all of these adjustments will be made to the low speed needle

I did some research on the buggy you have and apparently the engine in it (.15xcp) only has 1 needle a HSN or main needle to make any mixture adjustments. This high speed needle points straight up from the carb, you cant miss it. That nut you are talking about I think just holds the the throttle linkage onto the slide carb, I tried findin pics of it online but there are not many good ones to look at.

Ok,thats sought of bad but thanks...Does this mean that my engine will sputter at idle and i cant fix it up,by turning the LSN because it has none. And also i cant do the pinch test so the car might tanke 10 secs to turn off and i cant fix it or will this never happen????Is it bad??thanks
