How cold is to cold
#2
That might be too cold. The engine needs to get up to about 230 F to get the parts to break in. Many people use aluminum foil to keep some head in on the cooling head, but I wouldn't risk it even though I know it is hard to wait.

I actually just got done from running my truck in about 0 degree weather. Trust me, when it's really cold temps like you all are talking about, your patience decreases a lot. When you lose your patience, you lose your train of thought to do things thoroughly. Then, something bad happens. I know it's hard to wait, it really is, but if I were you; I would just wait until it was a little warmer out just so that you don't wreck a brand new engine. That's just my $0.02 though.

i'm just beginning to break mine in. Wisconsin here and we're at -15 right now. I did it in the garage though, but I've got a 3 car so i could drive it around a little. Just don't let the fumes get to ya.
