I heard it was very accurate and effective but that it crapped out really easily, probably from engine vibration or fuel spills.

What do you think?

I've heard that you just have to put the probe in the right spot from some and i've heard that it's not very accurate from others. If it were up to me i'd just get a good quality temp gun like Raytek.

I have no personal experence with one but I do have a couple of thoughts.
First, Anything that gets as much bad press as that thing does is not something I intend to try.
Second, I've got 7 nitro rc's, a handheld temp gun is way more versitle for me.
Third, I like beans tooooooot, toooot...

Mine worked okay for the first few bashing sessions in my Savage, then the failsafe started to erratically go to full throttle instead of brake like I had it set. It didn't matter if I reversed the servo setting or anything. It now doubles as an attractive ankle bracelet since it is out of warranty.

I also hated having to pull the body off to read it. You could try mounting it in a window, but as soon as the window got dirty, you're back to square one again. I went to a separate failsafe and temp gun like I should have in the first place.
