Default MODS MODS MODS

I think someone should create a MODS section in the forums or somethin for any and all R/C cars, trucks, motos ect any and all shapes and sizes gas and electric. I know their are tips and things like on RCdriver or RCcaraction and various mods and tips over the net. But for me its hard to find alot of these tips, tricks and mods, let alone a comprehensive varied catalog of such things. I know you can buy tip books and such from RCcaraction but i think that especially RCuniverse needs a section devoted strictly to Modifications how hard would it be to make a channel/catagory just like the other various ones.

there are so many cars and trucks that it would be very difficult to make a book for all the mods for a car. Especially since new products come out very often. And since cars get discontinued quickly since they are constantly being updated. It is just too much info to try and keep together when it is being changed constantly, it would be a waste of time because in a year,it would be outdated anyway. Just in my opinion.

you mis-represented what i was saying, there dosent have to be every single mod or tip for every car, just put up a MODs section in the forums that way any and all cars/trucks,helis,boats ect would be open for anything. Someone has a new tip for a certain vehicle, then post it in the Mods forum section for everyone. simple as that, and as time grows so will the mod/tip section i thinkg the Moderator or whoever it is should make such a channel calling it "Mods and tips for Everything and Anything" or whatever else suits the need

And it being a waste of time, i dont think so just because you cant use that mod or tip doesent mean that others wont be able to,and alot of mods and tips are pretty much "In General" meaning you can apply it to many different vehicles. ANd then there will be some that are vehicle specific, thats great to i know there are ALOT of people out there that would like to look and see all the crazy ideas and modifications and tips that customers are doing with there vehichles, even if it doesent apply to you,its still cool to see and maybe use later on in the future.

That is what the individual forums are for. if I'm looking for info on my TC4, I got to the electric forum. If I'm looking for a tip for my t-maxx, I'll go to the traxxas monster truck forum. this way I don't have to wade through all the info on models I don't have like nitro on road or 1.8 buggies.

I say we should have a Modification forum, if not its own channel, then a sub-channel unde each existing channel. For example, Under the Savage forum, put a mods channel and do so for the Losi and Traxxas forums as well. Also, put an engine mods forum under the nitro and gas engines channels. I have participated in no less than 10 threads under those channels alone that deal strictly with engine modifications. I know more engine mods dedicated threads exist under those channels, but unfortunatetly the search function does not help in pulling only those dedicated threads, it will literally pull thousands more with the phrase "mod" in it. This is the primary reason why noobs dispise it when we tell them "use the search function."

A seperate Mods channel will help somewhat, a subchannel under each existing forum would be better. Ideally, the search function should be tweaked to be more restrictive.

There are two excellent engine mods threads in existence that I know of, but the moderators have not turned them into Sticky threads. There are dozens more great instructional threads, but agin, they have not been turned into stickies. Moderators, please turn these excellent threads under each forum into stickies. This way, less repeat posts by different people will appear ince the informaion they seek will be more readily at hand.

I defineatly agree with you SavageJim Useing the Search function is great but it gives you such a WIDE range or crap that doesent even relate to what you typed in practicly, dont get me wrong its good to have it,but it does need some modifications. And alos i understand that there are catagories devoted to certain types of cars or companies, but if im looking for tips or tricks or mods or something i most always have to wade through various noob questions like "why wont my car start" or why wont my car go 100 mph" it gets frustrating for use thathave experience and multiple vehicles and just want to see all the neat tricks and mods people are comeing up with for all sorts of vehicles and applications.. SavageJim you point out somethin very good to post sub-catagories strictly devoted to say T-maxx mods under the T-maxx forum catagorie. That would work to,i and many other people are just looking for a way to make or MOD and TIPS And TRICKS more accsesible. Isnt that what R/C is all about haveing fun and being innovated with whatever you have and why not share that with someone in a designated place
