Making a powered axe?
Im planning to make a smaller battlebot for my final year project but dont know how to make a powered axe weapon.
The body is based on a larger 1/16 scale tank. Plenty of room, but on a budget.
I cant use pneumatic, hydraulic or expensive actuators.
This is the only thing i can think of:
The motor will wind the axe back, once the motor stops, the spring will propel the axe.
I think there should be a more effiecient and more powerfull alternative to this. Any ideas?

RE: Making a powered axe?
Pneumatics arent that expensive, all you need is a solenoid, single acting cylinder (use a spring for return), and a tank. Tank can be a paintball tank, cylinder is about 30 bucks, solenoid - no clue, but somewhere between 10 and 40.

Yep, ive been looking up stuff about solenoids and cylinders but have no idea how it works with a system.
Is it powered by electricity? Will 7.2v be enough power?
Im not really trying to make a tank, just stealing the mobility stuff.
