RE: Tamiya Question
The TL01 is faster! It also handles better, but it's design is more complex than the TT01. It depends on how you look on it.
The TT01 was developed to be easy to assemble and repair. It wouldn't be anything without the aftermarket support it has.

RE: Tamiya Question
Yes most certain about it. Any Tamiya collector will tell you the TL01 was a better design. The TT01 is a mock-up of something it isn't (fast).
The XB series is mostly made up of TT01's because they are easy to assemble. I don't like the design (despite having 3) and much prefer the TL01; it's more the engineers car. That is; that it's more of a pig to repair!
Try it yourself; give each chassis ball bearings, and upgrade the gearbox with a new pinion/spur setup. You'll be surprised to find that the older car is much quicker.

RE: Tamiya Question
I do own an TL01. And a TL01B. I do not how ever own an TT01, but I do have an DF-02 that shares a lot of common parts with the TT01. Looking at the engineering on the cars I do own I would have chosen the TT01.
