I am looking at starting a project to build the worlds fastest nitro powered rc car and I was wondering is anyone can name a good chassis or car to start with? Thanks

A big piece of 1/8th" aluminum plate with the sides bent up. You could mod something, but if you make your own you can fit front and rear assemblies from other cars on there, have it nice and stretched out, and have room for all the engine you could want.

you probably want to match the engine to the trans or vice versa.

this was project but was a bit hevy it might help you.i was tinking what is the fastest nitro engiene in the world.you would need to do some research on the engiene to get a good one. hope this helps.

Where can they be purchased? And how are they for top speeds?

any 1/8th scale because you want to be able to obviously fit the most powerful engine in there which is always the larger ones, also try get really wide rubber tires (which i think serpents already come with, they could be foam ones) it will be really hard to get the gear ratios right because unlike electric where you can just swap the spur gear and pinion (almost straight swap on electric) on nitro its going to be tricky, your going to have to make it all custom. ive never seen a 50 tooth clutch bell paired with a 10 tooth spur gear which is what you will most likely use depending on how fast you want the FASTEST to be lol.
