Default Charging batteries in the field off a 12v battery?

I was just wondering if anyone think it's possible to use a 12v 7.2Ah battery in a starter box to charge RX and TX batteries though a DC charger hooked up to it, without totally killing the ability to use the starter box.

I can't imagine a DC charger really taking up a lot of juice but who knows.
