Default Ram Air!!!

I just had this idea based on Pontaics ram air system. What if you you cut a whole in the front windsheild of your rc body and got a plastic tube the width of your air filter. Then you could glue the tube to the window of the body and snug it up to your air filter. So at high speed all the air that gose through the tube would be fourced in to the engine giving you more power. Just a thought let me know what you all think, or if it is already been done.

The problem is that ram air does not work. It is more like a glorified cold air intake. In order to actually ram air and create pressure (boost) you'd have to be driving insanely fast. Faster than you could safely drive an RC car. Yes that also goes for 1:1 cars too. I read a few articles about the physics behind ram air, I'll see if I can find them.

maybe a mounted fan to stuck in more air would help but like its been said you would need a lot of pressure going through to boost anything

Forced induction doesn't work in two stroke engines. Turbos and superchargers are forced induction, read the 10 zillon threads on them and you'll learn why they don't work

Apart from the fact forced induction doesnt work on nito,s you could still take your inducted air from the base of the windscreen and plenium area as it should be a low presure area.. Dont no what your going to use as a filter[]

I've heard iffy things about the K&N filters, but I have no experience with them so I can't say a whole lot. I'll stick with my Fioroni, which in my opinion is the best on the market!

I figure that would create more drag than anything good.

It's a tiny hole it's about 1" by a 1/4 " Drag you must not know much about air flow as you want to open the whole window wow that would cause drag look at the photo it's a tiny hole with a air scoop so it directs the air right to the carb and the cooling head. And it more of a cooling port and it helps the engine breath better to.

It would definitely work to a certain extent. Whether you'd be able to notice the difference in another story because ram air doesn't create actual pressure until around 100mph. That doesn't mean the cool air won't help though.
