Default Servo batt pack?

I have 2 1200ma nimh packs when i charge what amp should i charge @? Is the lower the amp charge better for the packs? I charged @.5amp it took awile but the pack did not get as warm is this a good idea? or should I charge @ a higher amp?

Charge them at 1.2A, it will take approx one hour from dead. 1200mAH = 1.2 amps per hour...easy. You can get away with charging receiver packs at 2A for a faster charge, but it's not very good for them in the long run.

The only thing that would happen if you charged it under 1.2 amps is less runtime=more chance of run-away just charge it at 1.2 amps.

Ok I will thank you now that you said that the packs did seem to die sooner when charged at a lower amp

Not quite...if you charge at lower amperages, you can encourage the battery to discharge slower, giving (fractionally) LONGER runtimes. As long as the delta peak works correctly on the charger, you can charge them at 10mA if you want, but it will take a long time (120 hours)!! On the flip side, if you charge them with a high amperage, you can encourage them to 'punch' more, to deliver more amps when required. just charge them at 1.2 except on raceday when you need to charge them faster, then go to 2.4 AT THE MOST for a half hour charge.
