Default ENGINE CHOICE ???

Hi i have been offered the choice of 2 engines, and i want to know the good and bad things about them,
They are the same engines as in the link, they are exacly the same engines, but at a better price, and no postage either, I want to know everything you know about them , plus take part in the poll, so if i get confused with all the details, i will choose to buy the poll winner
the car will be used for rallycross and i already have the NOVAROSSI road race engine for the tarmac tracks

Default RE: ENGINE CHOICE ???

the ofna one is the same as the first .26 for hot bodies.

The hot bodies .26 with that gray head is the better buy, it is stronder and has a better hp put out around 2.8hp.

The hot bodies one is easyer to find parts for and is a good stong engine.

Thoe ofna engine have had some truble in the past, and thats the .26 with the purple head that was one of there engines that had probs, there was a massive recall on them for not installing the pight piston pin and was wrcking all the engines, ofna does no longer off the free of charge fix for those engine.

I would go with hot bodies, for that price i would jump. I have owned hb and ofna, hb is the better buy!

Neither have anything like 2.6hp. NEVER believe these figures. Maybe 1.8 absolute tops.

Even if they are, one will be closer to the truth than the other probably. Look at the RPMs, go with whichever revs higher. HP is nothing, TORQUE at high revs is everything. It's no good having a high hp mill if it can only reach 26,000rpm, as you'll have no top speed. similarly, its no good having a 40,000 rpm screamer that stops pulling at 25,000. Is this for a buggy or a truggy? If it's for a buggy, go with one of the STS .21s, you'll be pleased (if not amazed) with the price and from what I've heard the performance too, even the STS .21 I bet would spank both of these motors you've mentioned, and then some. If it's a truggy, go with the STS .28 or .30, they are very good engines by all accounts, more for big wheeled vehicles, cos they have tremendous torque.

I just got myself a great deal on a NOVAROSSI road race engine for £31 which is about $60 ? it will be great for the tarmac rally sections, do you think i will need another engine for a rally car ?
