Anyone ever have trouble with HPI quality control?
I am currently building an HPI Hellfire SS and so far have had two improperly machined diff shafts, a burst case of diff oil(thank god the bag it was in was intact), and one missing shock shaft. I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this with HPI kits.

My Hellfire SS was fine.. Everything was there. Except my diff oil burst too. But I just re poured it back into the bottle.

In a word, no, I mean, it's not mugen or xray, but bad parts? No...
Are you sure they're defective, the machined parts? If I had a dollar for every time I thought something was wrong, when it was me trying to fit it incorrectly, I'd be a rich man. And I've built some 20 kits in my time...

I can't count the kits I have built from planes to boats to cars and trucks. They all have a bad day sometimes but I try to give them the benefit of doubt and see if they will fix it,(then I go off the deep end) haha so far I have no problems with any of them when it comes to getting them fixed.

Did you notice the parts missing as soon as you took the bags out of the box or was something missing while you were putting it together. Most of the time parts dissapear, they get dropped behind something, cats knock them off and play with them, kids grab stuff. Most likely the part was there.
I also highly doubt the parts are improperly machined, maybe your putting them where they dont belong? front/rear -rear/front
As a rule of thumb, always verify the parts are there before beginning the build. At least make sure each part is in the bag, before opening it.

I had a problem to my clutch shoes for my R-40 were too big they would get stuck in the 2speed hub and the tranny remained in second gear. I had to sand down the edges slightly to get the tranny to shift like it is suppose too.

I have a HPI original Rush, MT, Micro RS4 and a Savage. For the most part have been problem free. Now my Rush had a weak chassis and bent but HPI had a recall on it and exchange it no problem for one that was up graded and much better. Yes call HPI customer service, as they are some of the best in the industry.

I have not opened the bag the shock shafts are in so the part is indeed missing, and as for the diff shafts they are not specific for front or back and I tried them with all the shafts with no luck, I measured them with a caliper and they are indeed improperly machined, one by less then half a millimeter smaller then the two that aren't and the other is off by even less. I called HPI and they are sending the diff shafts, and I will call about the shock shaft tomorrow.

RE: Anyone ever have trouble with HPI quality control?
[:@] HPI is making me very mad, I received the two diff shafts yesterday and got them in my car, unfortunatly they forgot to add the shock shaft to the package like they said they would, I figured I would just receive the part late, well today fedex arrived again and I was excited thinking it was the final piece I needed, I opened the package and what do I find... two more diff shafts and still no shock shaft.[:@] THis is really pissing me off as had their quality control been better I could have been running my hellfire a week ago, and now I am going to have to call again on monday and wait another week for them to hopefully get it right!
