Default Reedy Brushless neo1 3star broken...HELP

I purchased a reedy brushless sytem and it only ran through 6 battery packs and then the shaft came loose inside the motor.[:@] It slid outward about 1/8" ripping up my spur gear. Something broke loose inside and I'm wondering if anyone else had a problem with these motors and how to fix it. The warranty I believe was for only 90 days and that time has come and gone. []

Thanks, Jim

Thanks, I'll do that Monday. Just wanted to know if anyone else here had the same problem. If so, I won't be purchasing another Reedy brushless motor.

Sounds like the rotor came loose from the shaft. You can use JB Weld to fasten the rotor back to the shaft. I had this happen and this fix worked. Make sure to use the slow curing JB.

Will the JB weld hold under heated conditions? Hopefully no other damage was done inside motor.

Reedy said send it back and they'll fix it minus the shipping charges. They also said there was a bad batch of these motors where the rotor came loose.

Yes, when they first came out, there were a bunch. If you decide to fix, yes the JB held under any conditions. Your motor will melt before it gets too hot for JB.

I had the same thing happen to my original Neo1 motor too. I just used thin CA and it has held ever great ever since.
