I just got my new Rustler last week, today was the first nice day to break in motor. Partway into tank 1, car suddenly took off at full throttle. Chocked it up to glitch, tried again. After changing glow plug to get started again, a few more minutes and same thing happened! Both times I was about 15 feet from car at time of take off. Have carefully tried since and upon startup engine goes to full throttle, have dialed back controller nuetral for throttle, and also adjusted idle speed on carb, both only temporarly seem to fix, then back to same problem. Traxxas hotline seemed stumped, suggested I get new crystals. Was looking for some guidance on possible fix or at least where to begin. Thanks

use only new duracell batteries in the car, weak batteries will cost you your car!, laso check for a damaged antenna wire. and don't run your car under power lines, they can cause radio interfierance. a safe practice is to turn your car and controler on and set the radio down in the area where you'll be standing and walk around the area watching you servo's for glitching. if you have glitching find another place to run.

check the antenna wire, the wires going to the reciever from both the steering and brake/throttle servo, and the wire from the battery box. If all seem to be ok you may have gotten a defective reciever or transmitter and i would recommend you send it back. But give traxxas a call they have excellent support and will sit on the phone with you untill you get everything right.

DONT SELL IT.take the time to learn about your RC. when you first get ready to run your rc car truck boat plane.be sure your rc can read good.walk about a 100 feet away from your rc and pull out the ant.1 clicl up or out. turn on the radio!move the arms up down left right.have a friend see that all is doing good and that nothing is jumping at the servos.then be sure that your air jet is at 2 1/2 turns out.then start the motor.if it runs real bad turn in the air a little at a time but not to much.to brake it in good.you may use 2 plugs to do this but its to do it right.after 4 to 6 tanks clean the air fliter if dirty with rc gas or soap and water.not real gas,it must have rc gas in it.if you use real car gas it will hert the motor.the gas from the filter will go in the card to the motor.the gas must have oil in it. if the truck is running to fastturn in th trim to te gas and slow down the motor.untell its right.but not to much it will work the brake too.try that and see how it does ok..let me know if you need motr help ok
