I finally get a beautiful day. Mild temps, very little wind (for this time of year in Cheyenne, this is a miracle), so I get the beast out thinking I'm going to get some serious run time. After just replacing the broken aluminum throttle arm on my Fantom with a steel one, I figured if I had problems today, it's not gonna be throttle problems. WRONG! On my second run
down the strip, the throttle all of a sudden wouldn't come off idle. When I looked at the throttle linkage, I noticed the little clip that holds the throttle pivot in the servo arm had popped off, allowing the pivot to come off the servo arm. How's that for luck. I'm completely laid up again by a tiny little missing clip smaller in diameter than a pencil eraser. I'm not messing with these stupid clips anymore. I ordered a linkage kit from Tower that comes with the brass collars and set screws. Those won't come off!

Knowing my luck, it'll be downright beautiful right up until I get my parts, then it'll be cold and blizzardy for two weeks straight. You might say I'm a cup's half empty kind of guy.

See, This would never happen, if you would only use airplane fuel.............LOL
on the bottom of your little plastic servo wheel stick you linkage back in and on the underside use a dab of 5 min epoxy to make a cap...It will hold till you get your stuff from tower..been there done it!!!!

I've actually got my sites set on that AE Monster GT, if I can get one in a rolling chassis kit. I might force that bill through congress if I have to!
Fuel guy
I never thought of using 5 min. epoxy. I'll just switch to airplane fuel then I won't have this problem anymore.

Actually the smell of the secret ingredient in the airplane fuel, actually feeds your brain and gets you thinkin...Now if the 5 minute epoxy doesnt hold for some reason and you get stuck at full throttle.....The fuel guy is not liable!!!!!!

He's right, a warm, calm (especially calm) day THIS time of year in cheyenne truely is a miracle.
I am savoring the irony of the reliable GT here (and also hoping that I am not feasting on crow in a couple weeks myself).
