could this work? makeshift part
as some of you knwo im firing up an old bx buggy and st truck i got laying around. i ordered what i was missing or lost over the years and realized i forgot to order a new air filter. not just the filter itslef i lost but the rubber housing.
so rather than order another $5 part for a buggy or st im not really going to use much. i figure i could make one.
i also have a stampede that i upgraded the exhaust to a tuned pipe. the old exhaust was a plastic part with rubber "stingers" on each side.
this is one of the "stingers" on the old trx .15 exhaust

i took my exacto knife and cut off the long part to leave just a "bowl" looking part.i then cut a hole to fit onto the carb intake. it fits perfectly and it even fits filter elements from the stampede perfectly.
however there is the added space under the filter element in the "bowl".
any problems with this?

Well, I guess it could work. But intake isn't really something you want to take a chance with. Just spend the 5$ and get a new intake.
