As it says who makes the most durable engine i was reading a mag that stated some racers were getting 10-12 gallons out of there Italian engines ? Now i do find a racer getting that much hard to believe but maybe a backyard basher yes ...

so has anyone got this kind of longevity (sp) out of there engines if i had to pay 300 buck for a Engine that would last 10 gallons ... hum only used 1 gallon nitro last year so thats 10 years just want to see what everyone thinks some food for thought

Maintenance is the key word to make ANY engine last. Check head temps often, after run oil is key too.
Also, be sure the air filter is cleaned often.
What engine were you thinking of purchasing?

None right now im running 2 Os's a 12cvx and 15cvx i just thought id do a little research for latter might come in handy ..who know maybe a novirossi or sirio later

The Italian engines in question are the Rossi engines with ceramic piston technology. The ones currently available are the HPS, HTS, Black Magic, and Maranello (sp?). I just picked up my fourth HPS a couple of weeks ago. These engines provide a ton of power and seem to last forever. The one in my primary 1/8 scale off-roader has over 10 gallons of hard running on it (routinely 350+ degrees). It is still tighter then my RB C4 was during break-in.
