Prior to my redeployment to the U.S. (currently in iraq) I will be sending my RCs back home. They will be sitting unused for at least 4 months. What is the best way to store my batteries? Completely dead or partially charged? Thank you in advance.

If they are lipos they should be at half charge and can be in sealed bag in the fridge.

If they are nicad leave them empty

If they are nimh they can store at any level.

If they happen to be high capacity (IB cells) most are recommending not to leave them empty so in that case they probably have internal shorts and can be stored clear full. By the time you use them they'll be empty. lol.
