Hey, I was going to go racing today with my nitro cars and I realized I was out of nitro (bummer!) I went to the hobby shop but they close at like 5 of course so I couldn't get any from there either. I am also into planes and I have like 3 gallons of plane fuel in my garage. I was going to use it in my cars today but I decided to ask somebody first. Will using airplane fuel in my car screw up my engine? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Justin

no you can run it but if you do a search you can get the poop ( not real poop of coarse) because there was world war eight over it but to answer your question yes you can run it in your car

Oh man:devious: , are you in trouble, Time to RUN, NOT WALK to another forum
! This has been discussed, argued, flamed and more here in the past two mos. or so:boxing: .
Just kidding about you leaving
, but the rest is true. Check this http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...talk+fuelagain
And then there was another one, I can't remember the name right now, but if you go back about 20 pages and then strt scanning the posts you'll find it. It's the only post with more hits and responses than mine I think.
In short, although you might find the discussion, well, exhilarating, the answer is YES, if you have appropriate oil content (and you do). It may require some retuning but it''l be fine. Welcome to RCU

Sorry, this wasn't really fair to you Justin, some of us were really just having too much fun over a truely beaten topic. But I was really serious in my first post, you surely can use most (all) airplane fuels in your car without damage to your car. It just depends on how you like the performance and what it is you're doing. You are NOT going to damage your CAR engine.

LOL
I have no idea. I'm in half a mind to nuke my own thread, but I gotta admit that thread has a LOT of very good informaiton.
Maybe I should "cut-n-paste" the good information into a new thread or something like that? hehe
Tom.. Leave those poor cats alone! What did they ever do to you? (other than wake you in the middle of the night with their howling?
And please.. call me Ram!
Marc.. maybe another change of screen name is in order!

Damn, I'm trying hard to remember now, Ram, but didn't you have a brief interlude as "treehugger" too
? Oh, yea, as I recall there was some interesting discussion in my thread as well. However, the stuff in your thread was best when it was about Dancing Girls or some similar reincarnation
Tom, if these things keep coming up pretty soon your entire neighborhood could theoretically end up feline free:sunsmiley

AS long as you get the % of nitro and % of oil you need, and the ingredients are good quality, it doesnt matter what its packaged for, car or airplane. I am currently using Trinity Monster Horsepower 25% and adding Morgan fuel "cool power" a full-synthetic oil additive to bring the 12% oil in Trinity up to the OS recommended 18% oil for break in. Works well so far, and should for 30BUCKS A GALLON! The oil additive is 7.00 a quart, but a quart will mix many gallons to 18%, at least 5 Gallons worth.:stupid:
