71 mph is the best i have been able to get from my twin engine rb c6bb mp777, although i have set the gearing higher now so i am hoping to break the 80mph mark.

My SVM Crono Prima with 14T gear, .21 RB Concept CS on 20% Nitro.
I was able to do it once before the snow showed up, it was cold out and the engine was a tad rich. Will test again next spring and will try a 15T gear.
Dan.

I figured I would try to update this thread again.....
I finally switched the L3 with a 3.5t brushless through the Traxxas Vel with a Max Amps 11.1v battery. I also installed the Ven Speed Meter and calibrated it and re-geared the car 5 times through trial and error (currently a 22/81 set-up).
blah blah blah.... Top Speed - 94mph
I will re-post when I break 100mph (my goal since the 8th grade.... 20 years ago)

XB8EC with RB C6BB - 90mph
Both speeds achieved on I-81 North with the cars in my trunk. LOL

well i dont know nothing about this, but when i bought my CEN CT5 Subaru they said 73.4 m/h and 35.000 rpm...
Since it was tuned up, it runs very very fast, at least for it size... but i cant have a true number just by look at it...
i never really found a space where i could push the second gear all the way to the top... Another problem is when it is at second gear it is very unstable, almost any little rock
makes it to go out of way... i can tell you that running with it at night it's pretty cool the sound is spectacular (since at night there are less noise around)...

Just bite the bullet and buy a radar gun like cheech did. I just bought one today while looking at Pep Boys. Like Cheech's, it is the Bushnell Volocity Speed Gun. It measures speeds 10-200mph. Has an LCD display, uses 2 C batteries, and provides +/-1 MPH accuracy.
Ranges 90ft to a ball and 1500ft to a car. Simple to use point and shoot. And It was only $69. To add credibility, just capture it on video as the car zooms buy and the speed comes up on the radar. Oh and check out traxxas some time they just released 2 new RTR nitros, one does 70mph+ out of the box. And the new Losi Speed T may be faster then the Traxxas VXL when geared higher since it has a 4800kv motor, the VXL has a 3500kv motor. Just need to gear it higher when it comes out in March. Also I have a HPI Baja SS that I will radar sometime and will post video/speed.

I just opened it up and read the instructions. For a baseball or similar object it will only measure 10-110mph. For a race car it measures 10-200. So you figure for something the size of a Traxxas Rustler it will only measure up to 110mph. Hey for $69 what do you expect. Also it mentions the COSINE effect the effects the digital doplar radar system. Which basically states that it is spot on accurate if the object is moving towards the gun as the your holding down the trigger. It is still accurate but less so if the car wizes by you 20 ft away as you hold down trigger. So to be 100% accurate you need to have a friend with steady nerves, thick boots, and medical insurance to stand in the path of the speeding car as it comes towards him at high speeds. So with that said, anyone in CA want to volunteer to Radar my HPI Baja 1/5 gas buggy while I run it full speed between your legs? Anyone? Please I need a volunteer. I wont hit your leg I promise. You can wear my thick motocross boots[8D]
