I am trying toi figure out the manufacture of this engine. I know it is a .15 and says "SX15" on the side of the block maybe labeled "MAX" also. Thanks for any help! It has a unique head desighn. The fins (heat sink) on the top of the head, go across as you can see on the top, rather than just on the sides. The head is PURPLE?PINK in color. It was fitted on a Serpent Impact 235MM chassis 1/10 touring car scale.

It's a Serpent Mega 15 SX. I used to run them in my 1/10 Serpent Impacts.

Hey one more question....what manufacture is close in quality to these engines? Note the interesting head desighn....is this a aftermarket head or is this the type that came with the Serpent Impulse that isnt made anymore? Thanks for the info. I went to the web site for surpent and they call the engines "nova mega" they are made in Italy. Thay look to be the quality of maybe Novarosi or similar Italian manufacture buy not sure, and they arent real popular. I am hoping to trade my XXXT Matt Francis for a Serpent Impulse 235MM with this engine/no electronics. i8TWEETY, you used to race these, whats a good condition Impulse worth with a new Nova mega SX.15....does 300.00 sound fair? Thanks guys for the help...

i8TWEETY I got the Serpent Impact M2 challenger. You said the head looks original but when I went to Nova Mega site I coulnt find a engine like mine. What year would you guess this kit is? Here is a better picture to work from....I am guessing the whole thing was about the same vintage. All the parts match. The engine/pipe/carb/chassis/enginemounts/clutchassembly. They are all so tight and the factory exhaust hanger is even pre bent for the pipe/engine combo. I8TWEETY Please share buddy I am dying to get to know more about my new treasure. I get the feeling it might be my best car now aside from the FG 1/5th scale....
