Default motor over heating

im runing a xx4 w/10x2 team orion chrome modified motor w/20 pinion and i think a 84-87spur gear,novak dually.ok i tryed this motor out on a crapy blast esc with the same gearing and only the esc got hot(no wounders hehe)but today i installed the dually and the motor gets very hot but nothing else,it was getting so hot you could smell it.what could be couseing this???

Default motor over heating

You are over geared. The "crappy" esc you were using before was restricting the current flow to the engine and was heating up. Try going with a pinion gear with 3 or 4 fewer teeth.

another thing to check make sure there is just a tiny bit of play between the gears it will cause it to get hot to if it is to tight
