I was wondering what would be a good parking lot bashing tire that isn't expensive(less than stock hpi ss tires 11.50). I am not wanting to race I just want to have fun. Also can I take my old tires off my rims and re use them or would it be smart to just get a hole new set of rims and tires???
thanks,

From your name I assume you have the SS car. If thats the case, then you should run the X-Patterns that came with it. I've been running both nitro and electric touring cars for a few years now and never found a tire that gripped better on all sorts of surfaces (parking lots and such) and wore better than those X-Patterns. You can't go wrong with those.
As far as getting tires off wheels, yeah, you can if you really have to. I've heard of people boiling them, but acetone seems to work reasonably well to get 'em off (nail polish remover). Your best bet is still a new set of wheels, but with some care and patience you can get them off and still have a good wheel left over.

this is the best way that i have found to get tyres off the rims....
Preheat your oven to 400 - 450 F, TURN IT OFF!!! Then place your tires/wheels in the oven and let set for about 45 minutes. As the oven cools, it crystalized the CA and you can simply POP the tires off of the wheels. No the tires won't melt and the rims won't either. I didn't believe it at first either but it works beyond your expectations. CAUTION: Use oven mitts when you take the tires out of the oven unless you let it cool right down. The key is 400 - 450 F, TURN OFF THE OVEN, place wheels/tires in oven for 45 minutes and WALLA! Try it!
Leave your window open because the place smells like rubber while your doing this lol. regards, adrian

CA glue has a heat tolerance of around 250 degrees, if you put it in the over I think 400 degrees might be a bit overkill, but I have never taken the tires off, I just buy new rims.

Pure acetone never worked for me I let the tires sit in it for an hour and when I came back the tires were still glued tightly but the chrome did come off.
