Default Differental Question

Ok when my truck was new (XXX-NT) when I spun a rear wheel the other would go in the opposite direction, after I replaced my diff screw when I spin one now they go the same way. I just opened it all back up and regreased everything really well and put it all back together and they both still spin the same way? How do I make them go opposite again?

Brodie sinn,
as long as one wheel spins if you hold the other and its got plenty of grease it should be fine. Just run it around for a while to see if the diff will losen up

Default Less Grease?

You may want to try less grease instead of packing it... you may inadvertently be locking the diff by doing this.

Default Differental Question

Hi Brodie,
I know your post is a few weeks old, but I wanted to see how you got on. I have a Pirate Monster and I stripped the planetary gears in the diff. I stripped it down, replaced the gears and packed it with 7000wt diff oil. The same thing was happenning to me, if I turned one of the shafts, the other turned the same way, whereas before they spun in opposite directions. I stripped it down and emptied a bit of the diff oil out, it helped but it still wasn't great.
I've put it all back together and taken it for a brief spin and it seems to be ok but I wanted to see if you'd had any probs or whether it had just worn in so to speak.
