I just ran into a guy in my new LHS who wants to sell a one month old Nitro Rustler for $200. he had the car and it looked real good, some body damage not bad. It was clean looking mechanically and stuff. He didn't have the radio and other stuff with him, so I'm going to meet him tomorrow and fire it up. The original rear bulkhead was broken and he had a non stock one on it. Otherwise seemed good.
Is there anything I should ask or look for specifically? I've never seen one of these run but I'e heard good things about them, and that 2.5 should kick ***** on my RC10GT's. Thanks for any and all input on this. I'm thinkin' the price is right
He has all the original manual, tools and so forth. I didn't ask about the box.

If it's still got the original radio, it sucks. I had the 3 channel version on my T-Maxx and it lasted about a whole hour's worth of run time. I pulled it and installed my Airtronics. Problem solved.

I don't really expect much from the stock radio. If it's that bad, I'll get a new FM crystal and add the rig to my xr3i,which I'll do sooner or later anyway. I guess I was looking for problems that I might miss when looking at the rig and thoughts about the price . Thanks grampi, I'm sure it's the same radio, but apparently not busted up yet.

I've heard mostly good things about the Rusty, so it probably won't disappoint you, especially if you're looking for speed. This thing has tons of that.

check the carb on the 2.5 REALLY closely because some of the carbs after 30-40 tanks of fuel have warped and cause a hassle with tuning....other than that everything is pretty straight forward.

Check the carb how? Make sure the slide mechanism moves cleanly without glitches, or is there something else? How does the price sound?

you just need to kinda eye ball it a bit....its easy to tell if the carb is morphed because it looks outta wack. Other than that the price sounds really good. even if the carb is warped thats still a great price.
