Forgive me if this has been beaten to death but I did not find anything specific to my request.
What 4x4 buggy would you recommend for the following:
affordable ($200-$300 complete)
fun and powerful
parts easily obtained
bashing around the local track and maybe the occassional race
I had read in another forum where someone mentioned the Tornado bb Pro. It seems to fit everything perfectly but I fo not know much about the car. Lots of aluminum parts, good/decent motor, digital controller, etc.
Thanks for the suggestions and again, sorry if this is a bit beaten to death.

PktChg Check out the Thunder Tiger EB-4 S2. I would recomend that over the Redcat just because Thunder Tiger has been around a long time and have a great reputation, where redcat has only been around 5 years or so and I have not heard much about them until 2007.
The Thunder Tiger is a good buggy for the price range your looking for. link below

your budget is high enough to get one of the best buggies
the losi xxx-cr
the AE B4
both are far higher quality than anything mentioned so far
the only thing is that they're 2wd

now that I've looked around a bit more, I think I'll put a few more dollars in and get a 1/8th scale with larger engine......the hurricane xp pro (i like all the aluminum upgrades.) Can anyone tell me if the parts are easily found at the local hobby shop or are they pretty much online???? Are the parts for this car compatible with another popular brand I might find at locally???

Well just remember, generally aluminum is softer than some of these resins and plastics and once its bent, its time for a replacement. Plastic and resin flex and is lighter than aluminum.

Id get a hyper 7. There really, Really stong, tons of fun... very popular so if something goes wrong theres loads of people to ask and parts ar eeasy to find and reasonably cheap. Go on youtube and type in the names of cars people recomend, you can see how good they fit your needs then.

if you read my post, you'd notice I'd suggested 1:10 electric 2wd buggies
why get a low rent, offbrand nitro when you can have something nice instead
