Default RE: Electric VS Nitro

electric is sick
i am getting a nitro though,
but around where i live not much people run rcs
so like if i mention rcs at school or something, they usualy look at me weird and say like, oh *** what are u six
so they think its those walmart rc cars you know
but if u say 'gas' r car they be like oh dats pretty cool
i hate that
so i have to explain, its rc grade rc not walmart toy rcs, but they still NEVER get it and still think the elctric rcs are those walmart toy rcs so.Its kind of frustrating but whatever.

Haha, that EXACT thing happened to me today at school. Before class I had my laptop out and I was checking ebay, and the guy next to me saw an engine I was looking at and asked what its for. And I told him its for my RC car, and he gave me that typical "what, arent you a little old?" look, but then he realized they were "gas" powered and was suddenly a lot more impressed although obviously still a bit confused.

People don't know how far electric has come. With brushless and Lipo, I would take electric anyday over Nitro.[>:]

Another advantage for Nitro is they all are so much more serviceable friendly. It's a lot more difficult to repair an ESC vs a carb or any other part of an engine.

i love the hobby... nitro or lipo it doesnt matter to me.
I ordered my first rc and its a nitro 1/10 on road car ( kyosho fw-05T plus)...cause its the cheaper route for me to get driving experience with a decent platform in terms of speed, reliability and cool factor (to me).. ).
The cost of batteries and chargers are usually more than the kit or rtr itself when looking at electrics.
but the top end nitro can be just as pricey...with engines at least $200. i am actually thinking of getting another rtr this time an associated tc4 or getting my first kit as an electric kit then my second kit as i improve as a nitro...either way i gonna have some expensive fun. [>:]
