Default RS4 Question

I have an RS4 2 right now and I love it. I know there's now the RS4 3. But How many different kinds of RS4 nitro cars are there? I'm guessing there's an RS4 1 but not really sure . I've also heard of the RS4 Racer, Sport, Rally, Super and I don't know what else. Just wonderin' where my RS4 2 falls when it comes performance among these HPI nitro cars. :stupid:

Default RS4 Question

Well, if you talking about onroad 1/10 scale racers. They have the rs4, which is the first one, the rs4 2, which is the second one, and the rs4 3, which is the third one. The rs4 and rs4 2, i think are not to much different. The rs4 3 is when hpi started using a shaft drivetrain instead of the belts, that were used in the previous models. That is the major difference when it comes to the different rs4's.

Yours, in terms of performace, should be about the same as all of them, as long as you have the same parts in each car. The rs4 3 ss model comes with a 2-speed transmission, unlike any other rs4 previously offered by hpi.

Default RS4 Question

Yes, the original RS4 and the RS4 2 are very similar, the RS4 3 is shaft driven. There is no reason to upgrade unless the belts are giving you problems.

The RS4 2 stock is about as fast as any of the other touring cars, except for the RS4 3 Type SS which includes a 2 speed and a faster engine.

The supernitro is just bigger, but it uses the same engine as the stock RS4's.

Thanks for the infos. so i guess putting a 2 speed on my RS4 2 will put itright up there with the Type SS huh?...Will an exhaust (pipe) really give me more power? Speed?...i want to upgrade my RS4 2 but I don't want to change anything that's really not necessary.

Default RS4 Question

How is the "RALLY" different from the Nitro RS4's?...is it actually an off-road car?

Default RS4 Question

The rally is not much different than a regualr rs4. It is belt driven, but has the entire belt system covered by a interior body. It also has larger shocks and different tires than the onroad. Of course there are other smaller differences, but those are the major differences.

Yes, the 2-Speed tranny will put it right up with the SS Kit, and even might make it faster. If you put a good pipe on it, it will give you more power, but it depends on what type of pipe you get for more speed. There are ones tuned for high RPM's and ones tuned for low-end torque.

Default Nitro Rally is shaft driven

It's basically a Nitro MT with shorter A arms, smaller shock mounts, street tires, and a rally body.

It is also shaft driven, not belt driven.

It's a compromise between the RS4 3 for the street, and the MT for off roading, doing both quite well.

You would need to have a more powerful engine, but a two speed should get you up to around 42 or so with the FE engine.
