Electric...
I like the fact that I am using a renuable Energy Source for my Hobby.. I can run my RC Car in Catchment area's and not cop a fine for noise or Emission polution..
Not only that.. I like the fact that I don't have to get a sore wrist from trying to start a Nitro... I say Trying to start..... OH DAMN there goes another pullstart....

I don't know how people figure nitro is better because it makes a mess and terrible smelling smoke. Also I wouldn't call nitro realistic, it just sounds like realistic whining.

Nitro is much funner and if your so pathetic and useless that you cant start one without breaking the damn cord then buy a drill start engine. PROBLEM SOLVED.

As far as the "emission polution" concern, just know that coal is by FAR the leading cause of all our popution problem, and a vast majority of the world's electricity comes from burning coal.

*edit*
And to the OP, this is exactly why I said to be careful taking what you read from here. Most statements made will be exaggerated, one-sided, biased, or even false. It still comes down to, as I said, the fact that people tend to like electrics for their simplicity, and the nitros for their realism and complexity.
BTW, the term "realism" does not apply only to sound. First of all, these is no specific engine sound that all other engines must mimick. Think about the difference between an F1 car, a big V8 dragster, a deisel tractor, and a locomotive. It is simply the fact that the engine itself produces a sound as a result of internal combustion, not that they think it sounds like their favorite Ferarri.
Secondly, it is the rest of the nitro setup that does it. It is that there is a real carberator that needs to be tuned for optimum performance. That there are mechanical influences like exhausts and air filters that, just like on "real" engines, affect performance. The simple fact that the engine requires fuel, just like a "real" one. The complexity that you condemn is the driving force behind why so many people like nitro, which apparently has more fans than electrics, though they might not be as dead set on "selling" nitros to others as some electrics seem to be.
